Health, Security and Safety

We think our people are our greatest asset and we are committed to provide a safe and healthy work environment to them. We firmly believe that all work-related injuries and illnesses are preventable. We design and manage our Health, Safety, Environment and process safety programs with the ultimate goal of achieving a zero-injury and zero-release workplace year after year.

process safety management

Process Safety performance at QAFAC facilities has been excellent with long strings of zero injury for both employees and contractors. At QAFAC process safety is applied throughout the whole spectrum of the process from the early design phase of building facilities, to running the plant on a day to day basis.

This involves regular inspections; audits, which ensures all systems and equipment, are running in a safe and efficient manner.

Risks are managed by a comprehensive and disciplined approach in identifying them which is then addressed by the hierarchy of hazard control. QAFAC ensures that for highly hazardous scenarios, multiple layers of preventive and mitigative barriers are applied.

In 2014, a Process Safety Improvement program named “AMAN” was introduced across the organization to have robust and sustainable Process Safety management system. The program aim was to achieve excellence in Process Safety by implementing this program.

The programs objectives are:

  1. Embedding a risk-based approach to process safety management,
  2. Building a consistent risk culture and mindset across the organization,
  3. Developing the right capabilities to maximize knowledge retention, in particular for process safety critical roles
  4. Establishing an effective organizational learning process.

QAFAC follows a process safety management system which has 14 key PSM Elements

In QAFAC, safety and well-being of our employees, contractors and the communities in which we do business is our core value.
