QAFAC produces and supplies Methanol and MTBE to local, regional and international markets. Its Methanol plant is designed to produce 832,500 tons of Methanol annually, of which 600,000 is earmarked for export. The balance is used as feedstock for the MTBE plant which is designed to produce 610,000 tons of MTBE.

The majority of the Methanol produced at QAFAC is exported to the Far East, Europe, India and the Gulf. Locally, the Company supplies Methanol to the newly established Gulf Urea Formaldehyde Company as a feedstock for its formaldehyde plant. The main markets for MTBE are the Far East, Europe, North Africa and the Gulf. Locally, MTBE is supplied to the QP refinery.
